I capture Ightham Mote

I recently visited one of my favourite places. Ightham Mote (pronounced Item). I love this place, it has a really whimsical dream like quality to it. I feel it embodies the castle in one of my favourite books, Doddie Smiths, I Capture The Castle or it could be a magical set in a Harry Potter film. Yet the tale of this incredible home is long, layered and wonky! It truly embodies hundreds of years of British history and interior styles, it's a beautiful place and well worth a visit.

The origins of this beautiful moated medieval house originate from the 1320’s. The house itself is a charming rabbit warren of rooms charting a number of architectural and interior styles across the centuries. The layers of history is almost palpable. Let’s go on a tour…
